This handsome guy is Alexander.

Alexander was living in an alley in downtown Vancouver when he was rescued. His home was a hole under a building and he was barely finding enough food to survive.

When Alexander was rescued he was bone thin, dirty and covered in fleas with a large open wound on his neck. Due to all the flea bites he was severely anemic and he was clearly starving and very dehydrated. After a visit to the vet, he was also diagnosed as having hyperthyroidism.

But despite all his troubles, Alexander is the sweetest, most loving senior you could ever meet.

At VOKRA we believe cats like Alexander deserve a chance at a happy, healthy life. Whether they’re seniors or kittens, tame or feral, healthy or sick – we provide them all with the best care we can. But this does come at a cost.

As a volunteer-driven non-profit, we can't continue to rescue cats like Alexander without your support.

After all his time on the streets, Alexander is now being cared for at our Operations Centre where he's warm and well fed. He's slowly starting to gain weight and we're hopeful he'll be heading to foster care soon.
