A HUGE Thank You to Our Volunteers!

A Letter from the Chair of Our Board in Honour of National Volunteer Week: Volunteering Weaves Us Together, April 16-22.

Dear VOKRA Volunteers,

This week, we celebrate Canada’s National Volunteer Week.

On behalf of the Board of Directors of VOKRA, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of our volunteers who contribute their time, dedication, and talents towards helping us achieve our mission of ending cat homelessness and overpopulation.   As a volunteer-run non-profit organization, we would not be able to work towards achieving our mission without your support and generosity.

Everything that we do is for the cats.  It is this common goal that unites us and continues to support the VOKRA’s growth. This is captured perfectly in the theme for this year's National Volunteer Week: "Volunteering Weaves Us Together". Your contributions, no matter how small, help create a culture of compassion and care and make a world of difference in every cat’s life.

Our volunteer network is vital to our success. Whether you have opened your home for fostering, engage with us on social media, help us trap cats in need, or answer the phones for us at our Operations Centre, your contribution makes a huge difference in the lives of the thousands of cats that come through our doors.

We know that volunteering is not always easy, and it can be challenging at times. However, your dedication and continued support when problems arise or when there are difficult decisions to make are incredible.

Your contributions do not go unnoticed.  We want to recognize and thank you for the tremendous sacrifices you have made to help the cats and kittens of VOKRA and make our community a better place. You have shown that by working together, we can achieve so much: last year alone, VOKRA rescued 1,400 cats and kittens and found loving homes for 1,200 of them.

On behalf of the Board, and all the kitties at VOKRA, thank you for so generously volunteering with us.
