Sponsor A Cat
At VOKRA, we believe every cat deserves a safe and happy life. Some of our cats have medical or behavioural challenges that make them unsuitable for adoption, but as a no-kill organization, they will stay with us—in a foster home or at our Operations Centre—for as long as they live. We only consider euthanasia when a cat is truly suffering.
Our long-term care cats require daily support, monitoring, and love. Thanks to our dedicated volunteers, each one has a secure, caring home for life.
Providing this specialized care takes resources, and we rely on supporters like you. You can help by donating to our Long-Term Care Fund or sponsoring one of our long-term residents.

VALANTINA
Help Valantina Heal: Become Her Sponsor Today
On July 7, 2024, Valantina was found under a woodpile in East Vancouver, malnourished, injured, and desperately trying to protect her surviving kittens. At only 2.76 kg and covered in painful lesions, she was rushed to a 24-hour emergency vet for lifesaving treatment.
Back at VOKRA, she finally found safety and comfort with her foster, but her medical challenges continued. A severe Demodex mite infestation required repeated treatments and specialist visits, and her vet bills have already reached $2,400—with more care still needed.
Valantina fought hard to survive. Now she needs someone to fight for her.
By sponsoring Valantina—through a one-time or monthly donation—you’ll help cover her ongoing medical care. Every dollar goes directly to her treatment, and any extra supports other urgent cases.
Will you help Valantina heal? Donate today to give her the future she deserves.
Meet Tay
Tay is a sweet, affectionate little cat who has stolen everyone’s heart. At just 1½ years old, she loves cuddles, being carried around, and curling up in laps. Gentle and loving—just like her sister Maree—Tay never hisses, scratches, or bites.
Why Tay Is So Special
Tay is much smaller than most adult cats, with a playful, kitten-like personality that makes her irresistible. Every morning, she crawls into bed for cuddles, purring loudly and giving gentle, loving nibbles—a ritual that melts hearts. Her days are filled with:
Cozy naps, Bird-watching, Chasing toys, Zooming around with Maree
The Challenges She Faces
Tay has neurological issues that have puzzled vets for months:
Sometimes paces along walls and windows while crying out
Very sensitive to sudden noises or movement
A little clumsy, loses balance easily, and isn’t confident with jumping
But her curiosity and bravery shine through—she’s often the first to explore something new!
Her quirks only make her more endearing:
Over-grooms, giving her a scraggly look
When she wants to play, she’ll dash past and tap your leg like she’s inviting a game of chase
A Bond Like No Other
Through it all, Maree has been her constant companion. These sisters are inseparable—snuggling together, playing fetch, and zooming around the apartment as a team. Their bond is pure sweetness.
How You Can Help
To finally understand what’s causing Tay’s symptoms, she needs an MRI, which costs $4,500–$5,300.
Her foster family has been incredible—taking her to specialists, trying treatments, and keeping detailed notes.
If Tay gets the care she needs, they’ll officially adopt her, keeping these sisters together forever.
We can’t promise what the MRI will reveal, and it’s possible her condition can’t be treated. But we can promise that every dollar donated will go toward giving Tay the best chance at a happy, comfortable life.
Give Tay the Chance She Deserves
Your support means the world—to Tay, her sister Maree, and the family who loves them.

Help Morrissey Heal: Become His Sponsor Today
Morrissey has been through a lot, but this resilient boy is still fighting. He recently underwent essential medical care, including neutering, X-rays, bloodwork, and a biopsy. What was first thought to be a broken jaw turned out to be a caustic injury to the roof of his mouth.
He now needs to see a specialist at West Coast Dental for advanced dental treatment. Due to heavy tartar buildup, he may require extractions, and specialists will assess his jaw for any hairline fractures while monitoring the mouth lesion.
Morrissey’s vet bill is already $1,533, with more costs ahead. At VOKRA, we’re committed to giving him the care he needs—but we need your help.
By sponsoring Morrissey through a one-time or monthly donation, you’ll directly support his medical treatment. Any extra funds will help other cats in urgent need.
Can you help Morrissey heal? Donate today and give him the brighter future he deserves.
