Top dog is former Flight Centre executive and Naturally Urban founder, Brian Feldbloom. When he’s not sniffing out the best wholesale deals for his customers, he’s donating to local charities on their behalf. His finger is always on the pulse of the pet food industry as well as his community, he tailors his business to his customer’s evolving needs.

Why do you love what you do?

I am passionate about helping people and animals. I started Naturally Urban 10 years ago because there weren't any pet food delivery services. I thoroughly enjoy running a business that cares for our community, customers, team members and mother earth. Becoming the top-rated pet store in Vancouver has been an exhilarating journey, made even more meaningful by our commitment to giving back to our community. Through our use of an electric vehicle and our status as a Living Wage Employer, we have raised an impressive $60,000 for local charities over the years. It's truly a testament to the power of socially responsible business practices and our dedication to positively impacting the world around us.

Where did the idea for the Kitty Tesla come from?

Our inspiration for the Kitty Tesla actually came from the movie Dumb & Dumber, where the dog car caught our attention. Initially, we joked about replicating it, but eventually chose a cat instead as it made more sense. The sleek and agile design of the Tesla, with its nose-shaped logo, resembled that of a feline, making it a perfect match for our business.

Why did you choose VOKRA as one of your partner charities?

Partnering with VOKRA was a natural choice for us, as they were the first charity we supported when I adopted my beloved Tigger 13 years ago. It was an easy decision to continue our relationship with them, and it has proven to be our most successful partnership to date.

Why do you think other businesses should commit to compassionate gifting?

I am a strong advocate for socially responsible businesses that prioritize doing good. It's surprising to me that not all companies share this mindset, as it seems like the natural and ethical way to operate. Running a business solely for profit feels empty and lacking in purpose.
