Walk for the kitties: What a day!
On Sunday, September 13, VOKRA supporters came together at Spanish Banks and Locarno Beach for the 26th annual Walk for the Kitties—and what an incredible day it was!
With sunshine, ocean views and lots of happy walkers, our amazing community came out to walk, fundraise, volunteer and celebrate the cats and kittens we all love.
Our 5 km route along Vancouver’s beautiful waterfront brought together VOKRA volunteers, foster families, adopters, donors, friends and supporters. There was a wonderful atmosphere throughout the morning as everyone came together for one very important cause: helping the kitties!
A huge thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this year’s Walk such a success. Whether you walked the route, volunteered behind the scenes, raised funds, donated or cheered us on, you helped make a difference for cats in need.
The Walk is over, but the fundraising continues!
Although the Walk itself has come to an end, all Walk for the Kitties fundraising campaigns remain open until midnight on September 30.
And we have some very exciting news to share!
$100,000 Matching Campaign
We are thrilled to announce that a generous anonymous donor has committed $100,000 to a donor-matching campaign in support of VOKRA’s cats and kittens.
The donor has chosen to remain anonymous, but their incredible generosity gives our community an opportunity to make an even bigger impact.
Donations made during the matching campaign will be matched, helping your gift go even further for the cats in VOKRA’s care.
VOKRA cares for more than 1,200 cats and kittens each year, providing food, veterinary care, foster homes and other essential support while they wait for their forever families. Every donation helps us continue this work.
