Walk for the Kitties 2026: Walk, Fundraise, Save Lives
It’s time to lace up for the kitties!
Join us for Walk for the Kitties 2026 on Sunday, September 13, at Locarno Beach Picnic Site next to Jericho Beach, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. This 5K fun walk brings together VOKRA supporters, volunteers, adopters, fosters, families, and cat lovers for a day of fun—and, most importantly, fundraising for cats and kittens in need.
Our Goal: $275,000
This year, we're aiming to raise $275,000 to help VOKRA continue rescuing, healing, and finding homes for cats and kittens throughout the year.
The need for our services continues to be significant, while the cost of veterinary care, food, medications, and other supplies keeps rising. Every cat who comes through our doors deserves the care they need, regardless of how sick, injured, young, or vulnerable they may be.
That’s where our community comes in.
Your support helps us provide:
Life-saving and routine veterinary care
Food, litter, medications, and other essential supplies
Spay and neuter services
Specialized care for cats with complex medical needs
The resources needed to support cats in foster homes while they wait for their forever families

Walk for the Kitties is more than a 5K. It’s a chance to get together with fellow cat lovers and celebrate the difference our community makes for cats across Vancouver.
You can participate on your own, create a team with friends or coworkers, or get your family involved. And you don't need to be a serious walker—the important thing is showing up for the kitties!
